Hi all,
My father has 2 CED players. The RCA one works good. The Panasonic one is nonfunctional and probably for parts only. He also has approximately 200 movies (e.g. Rocky, Star Wars, Apocalypse Now, lots of Disney Movies, Mickey Mouse cartoons, and lots more). I can't remember all of them, but there are a lot. He can send you a list by email if necessary. He would prefer this all to go as a package deal. It needs to go soon. Someone, please make him an offer he can't refuse as he really wants to get rid of it ASAP. We would like these to go to a good home and not just sit in storage for another 15 or 20 years. You must pick it up though. He is Dutchess / Putnam County, New York (about 60 miles North of NYC). Please email him for details (liv4sno@aol.com) if interested. I most likely will not check this blog. Thank you in advance. |

Panasonic? Do you mean Realistic player aka radio shack player? Good luck too, sounds like a nice little grab! _________________ I dont own

| Or do you mean laserdisc players and discs? Panasonic and RCA both had laserdisc players. |

Is it just me or does posting 1 time and saying "I'm not going to check back" seem kind of dumb? I'm real disinclined to follow up it. I even know somebody in the Bronx that would probably grab it for me.... _________________ Scott

These are CED movies/players; NOT laser discs.
I'm glad I did decide to check back. All "dumb" accusations aside, this is exactly why I provided a personal email for my father. I do not live anywhere near him anymore and really don't want to be a middleman. If interested, please email Rob at (liv4sno@aol.com).
Thanks again. |

In the poster's defense I felt pretty much the same way when I put up that pic of the big stash at Cheapo Records in Cambridge, MA (which was still there as of yesterday, BTW) - just a heads-up along with contact info if someone wanted to chase a transaction, nothing more.
I'd rather make a little bit of info available to the collecting community and be honest about my own expected involvement (zilch) than ignore finds completely and let them hit the dumpster. |

That's fine, but it's not unreasonable to wonder about the matter since the Panasonic was mentioned and there were no Panasonic CED players ever made.
To feel that such sensible queries are an insult or somehow unwarranted or dumb is being overly sensitive. It's also logical to follow up on such a post if it's a family member being helped out, and that is what actually happened. |

| Did someone feel that sensible queries were insulting? The post that implied that must have been edited or removed I guess, because I can't find it. |
