Does anyone have either Dracula or Frankenstein CED they'd be willing to sell or trade, or even both?
I'm making our 3rd BR into a 1980s kids room, like what my son used to have, for our grandkids, and they both are crazy about those old Universal films. I wanted to have them for the 'entertainment" nook top shelf, which includes a 1983 Motorola Quasar 25" corner console, a Wards CED player, a Sanyo Betamax, and CEDs like Benji, Escape from Witch Mountain, etc.
Thanks! |

That's a great idea! When we get moved, I have already got a room in my "mancave" dedicated to CED Players, and CEDs Wall shelves, and one wall will have strips on it to display my favorite CEDs face up. I can't wait to "play" in my new mancave!!!! _________________ 1000 titles

I am lucky to have one of those already, but it was a big job to get it. I actually had to build a room extension on the house to do it. That entertainment room is anchored by the Pioneer Elite 64" TV, and has every type of common home video entertainment machine available since the 70s. Not one of every single model, but one of each format, ie, CED, LD, Beta, VHS, DVD, HD DVD, Blu Ray.
I fixed up a little stand with a subscript on it that says "Now Playing" that I can set the case or jacket on of whatever is being played, and there's even a little lighted EXIT sign right over the door that I found at a thrift store, a few movie posters on the walls, and my favorite, a hand painted John Wayne cowboy portrait done on old wooden planks.
But the extra bedroom is going to be as much 80s as possible, with period furniture and electronics I've kept, including our very 1st VHS machine bought in 1981, still working, & Quasar console. And things like LA Raiders banner, 1984 Olympics stuff, etc.
Of course some things can't be period like DVD player, but I did find an older DVD player/recorder that matches really well. It's a Philips DVDR 990, about 8-9 yrs old, but looks really 80s and we only use it to play DVDs. And it has RF output too. If you want to see one, you can look here:

Used to be able to buy one of these for $10 or $20 but now they're hard to find. Funny thing is they were several hundred $$ when first introduced. |

Sounds like fun!!! I can't wait to get over and start the project! I have an Onkyo reciever and a 52" Samsung plamsa acreen tv. I also have 2 Bose 301 speakers for my right & Left front speakers and Bose 201s for the rear channel, a Kenwood Subwoofer that is going to have to be replaced. As far as components, I have VHS, BluRay player, which plays both DVDs, and of course my SJT400 & SGT250 CED players hooked up with this set. I think some day i'd like to get a laser disc player and maybe even a Beta player. _________________ 1000 titles
