Most of us have more than 1 disc player and 100s of CEDs, I thought it would be fun to have a thread that showed what we consider our "pride & joy" of our collection! I got back into the business purchasing an SGT250 that was in great working perfectly having been refurbished. I payed top dollar for it, and I wasn't disappointed in the operation of the player. What bugged me was how rough the cabinet was. Then I saw one on Ebay, the cabinet was still wrapped same, foam packing material. the player wasn't garunteed to work, in fact, they were saying they weren't sure if the player would work or not. Finally after 4 or 5 days , I even stayed up until 4 am to make sure no one came in, at the last minute. I WON IT!!! Shortly after the player was mine, it came to my front porch and I plugged it in, and all it needed was a functon belt ! I replaced the 2.00 belt, and the player plays,,,,,,,,,,,I still have it!!! I sold the rougher looking one, and opted to keep the cosmetically nice looking player, With my score came several nice movies, too, I love my player, it took me back to the days in the 80s when we older guys were purchasig out new ons!!
What about you? What is the best player/ceds that you ever scored? If
best deal for the money? The best!!!!!

_________________ 1000 titles

One of my best scores was at Denio's flea market in 1995- I'd been checking there regularly for CEDs, and someone had a TON of them all in perfect condition, some still sealed, and lots of titles I'd been wanting a long time like the first Playboy disc and the rare "Lords of the Ring" wrestling disc. Seller was a weird Asian guy who also had a wheelchair for sale, so he used that to help me bring the discs to my car! _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

About six years ago I saw an ad in the Indianapolis Star for a large collection of discs. The ad was in the paper for three weeks before I noticed it. The owner was in a hurry to sell.
I paid $400 for seven players and 2500 discs.
About three years ago I bought another 1200 discs at a yard sale for $100
It was late in the day, the movers were going to be there early the next morning and those discs needed a new home.
About two years ago I was in a SEARS store and overheard a customer ask about getting his Sears brand disc player repaired. They couldn't help him. I gave him John Stevens' phone number and www.cedatum.net web address. Several months later I got a call from him. He was moving to another state. He had sold his player and some of his discs on eBay, he had a 'few' discs left and told me I could have them FREE IF I would pick them up. A 'few' discs turned out to be 900+.
Last November I was at a Model Rail Road show and one of the guys from the NMRA booth told me some guy was looking for me but he didn't think it had anything to do with toy trains. The guy turned out to be a friend of a friend of a friend who'd heard that I collected CED discs. At some point in the distant past I'd helped his friend move his Model Railroad. He'd found some CEDs mixed in with LPs and LDs he'd bought at an auction. He didn't want them. I was the only person he had heard about in years who collected CEDs so he'd brought them to the meet. He had sixty discs in his trunk.
