http://www.totalrewind.org/disc/disc_cap/D_201P.htm
On this web site, there is a synopsis about the CED format in the United Kingdom. It is about the PAL format discs & the Hitachi model VIP201P CED player sold there. At the end of the page, there a 2 paragraphs & 2 pictures of a lower end Hitachi CED player with the model VIP101P. What I find odd is there is no reference to this particular player anywhere on the cedmagic.com web site; it is not even listed in the CED Player Reference Guide. Has any one ever heard of this player? Does any one know anything about it? Why is it not mentioned any where on the cedmagic.com web site? |

Here in the UK the VIP201P is the main player i use.
I even have the IR remote that goes with it.
We arent exactly spoilt for choice with players over here.
Theres no pal versions of rca players etc to choose from.
As well as the VIP201P i also have the VIP101P lower down the page.
On the VIP101P behind the "cheap as chips" minimalist control panel there is the slower speed forward scan button hidden away and the rewind buttons can apparently be soldered in too to add these functions. |

That makes it sound like it was a lower end Hitachi model with some modification in order to offer less buttons!? Weird.
I like the way those models operate when they are working properly. The RF hiss is annoying bewtween disc side changes, unless you have one with AV out to use so you don't get that. |
