Ok, I have been playing some of my brand new CEDs, the ones that are wrapped in cello. The first 2 of them that I played, I didn't catch which player was the culprit, and i still don't know. I have 3 very active players. I usually play all my movies in my beautiful Zenith player, without watching them. Once in a while, I play a disc in my SGT250 first, then once in a blue moon, I don't play it first, and put it straight in the mac daddy of all players, my SJT400. Does anyone know if any of the three players I use is more prone to cause tears in the paper?

Are you sure it's not "operator error"?

I wonder if you could take a sacrifice caddy - put masking tape on the edges and slide it into each and see if there are traces that are left?

lol i definately could be operator error. Carolyn! I'm teaching her to use the CED players. The three I use are all different! Zenith fully manual, (I suspect this one) the SGT250, and the SJT400. Good idea the scratch i on the front. I could put a piece of tape over the area. Thanks for the idea! It must be scary being you! All that knowledge floating around up there in your brain!!!!! Here's things to look for:

Where is the scratch on the caddy, middle, off center, etc?

On the top or bottom as you put it in?

Does it go all the way down or part way?

Those can help to give you a clue. If you use a sacrifice caddy, might want to operate it with the covers off and observe. Maybe you don't have to tape it to obtain a scratch, just tape a piece of paper over the artwork and tape the edges down to where you can remove it later without damage. For example, painters tape.

Some of Louisville's finest eateries!!! Oh, and I'll throw in a breakfast if you will drop by and pick Dean up on your way to KY!!
Seriously, wouildn't it be fun to find a central location and all of us get together once a year?? Does that sound fun, or am I just, i don't know, maybe kind of weird?
