I am looking at buying a SJT-200 Player and 13 movies that i found through craigslist. I offered him $40. Is that a good number or did I lowball him. Theres not much to go on on eBay so I wasn't sure what to offer him. Below are the movies he is selling.

1) Swing Time: RKO Pictures (1936) - Fred Astaire - Ginger Rogers
2) Royal Wedding: MGM Pictures (1951) - Fred Astaire - Jane Powell
3) Ring of Bright Water: 20th. Century (1982) - Bill Travers - Virginia McKenna

A great deal for SJT 200 if working. Still a pretty good deal if only minor problems, like gooey function belt. If he thinks it's fair, then it's fair. Everyone's happy and don't feel bad about it. Nice movies too.

It supposedly works perfectly. I hope he is local because I would hate to have it shipped and then find out it doesn't work as well as shipping probably wont be cheap.

I would have bought in a second! I wont hesitate if its local, low priced with discs and supposedly works.

He emailed me back and he won't take$40 for it he has also put up a craigslist ad in Iowa for it he wants $175 I'm so glad he responded to my craigslist ad placed in ny.

I'm sorry, but that is way way way too high. In my opinion. The SJT200 is a great player, but the price is way out of line. You can usually get a top of the line for 150-225. In fact there one of our CEDmagic friends has one for half that price.

What's pretty funny is that on his craigslist ad he manageged to copt info from the cedmagic.com site he just didn't research how much the payer is actually worth

Yeah, that is interesting. Let me give you a little advice. If you are thinking about getting a player, get one with a remoote. That way, if you ever watch a movie that has some skips, (usually from not being played in years, the more you play it, the better it plays). That said, If you want to clean up the skips, it will be easier from your sofa.
