Posted: Sat Jun 04, 2011 2:18 pm Post subject: List of CED Players I'm selling,,,Finally! |
|
|
`It took a while, but finally I got through all of the CED Players from Dad's estate and checked them out, etc, etc. Since we really prefer to have these go to hobbyists, we'll not list them on ebay but here instead (at least for a while first).
I put 7 of the best with photos on the CED Magic classified website here at http://www.epage.com/js/browse/c1064/b1064/r31118/?cat=1000&c=1064&b=1064&r=0
Here's a list of the others that are not listed in the classifieds (excludes all players already spoken for):
Working players in good shape (one or more of each) -
Zenith VP 2000
SFT 100w
SGT 200
SGT 250
SJT 90
SJT 100
SJT 200
SJT 300 & Remote
Working project players that need some care/fixing (one of each) I'll sell cheap, make offer -
SGT 075 (plays with good pic, has a low audio signal)
SGT 250 (displays 00 upon power up and disc load, maybe has a Defective Player Control Microcomputer IC)
These need more work or are good for parts (one or more of each) All power on. Some have a broken gear or other piece. Also cheap, make offer:
Zenith VP2000
SFT 100W
SGT 075
SGT 200
SGT 250
SJT 90
SJT 100
SJT 200
SJT 300
I can email photos of any that you might want to see.
Any buyer can take his shipper of choice, but if it's USPS, that has to include insurance and tracking. Generally, I'm trying to sell the good stereo models to keep them under $140 with shipping and the good mono models to under $100 with shipping, but fair offers are okay. All will be shipped double-boxed, so estimate 30 lbs package. If you want two, I can pack each in a box then together in one large box, to save on shipping.
For the project ones needing care or work, or the ones for parts, just make an offer since shipping will be your biggest expense. If you only need one part of one or a better case, that's a distinct possibility. Email is rixrex @ netzero.net
I'll remove taken ones from the list as they go (if they do). Eventually, I'll junk the ones parted out & beyond repair and just keep the good stylus of each.

I want the SGT250 that needs love & care. What is the least you will take for it? I want to get it in case I need something for my player. You can shoot me a price for it if you want, Beetlescott@msn.com _________________ 1000 titles

Thanks, Scott, for the interest. I sent you an email.
Also, I just used up my limit of 10 ads by listing our one owner Realistic CED1 with original box and if you think it's pricey, please note that it comes with an EXTRA spare good stylus so you get two of them, well worth it for that.
The other ad is for the same type Hitachi AVC video upconverter that I use for my CED and LD players to go to HDMI. I was able to get several of these from store overstock, etc., so I have 6 of these extra.
Check them out at http://www.epage.com/js/browse/c1064/b1064/r31118/?cat=1000&c=1064&b=1064&r=0 |

Can you explain how the upconverter & switcher works? Also I have an Onkyo receiver that is 15 years old, it is the first receiver that came out with a 5 channel receiver, and prologic. It still works great, would this "switcher?" improve on the sound? Or is it just for picture? _________________ 1000 titles

Sorry, I was gone over the Dads Day weekend visiting the in-laws.
Well, the best explanation is the one I posted on the forum here:
http://cedmagic.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1597
The unit doesn't improve the sound, just video, but it would convert any two-channel analog pro-logic surround source to digital so it can be passed thorugh the HDMI circuit. With this, you can use the device as a compete video/audio switcher, and if you have the 2 channel audio outputs on your set that can go to your Onkyo, you can use the device as swtcher for that receiver as well.
Alternately, since the unit has an optical output, you could hook that up to your receiver if it has optical input. You'd still get either mono, stereo or 5.1 pro-logic depending upon what the source is, but you'd also get all mono signals as two channel, even if you had to use the RF input. |

That's a nice unit, made just before or right at the time that digital sound receivers were coming out which accepted optical or coaxial sound inputs. Your unit is actually a 5.1 channel receiver, with added option of Front R+L and Center channels for a second location. Disregarding the second location option, your unit allows you to experience 5.1 sound through center, front R+L and rear R+L wired connections, with a powered subwoofer connected to the subwoofer pre-out. How do you have it connected right now?
Your unit is actually made for the analog matrixed 5.1 dolby surround system which was a way of carrying 6 sound channels (5.1 = 5 plus subwoofer) on the old stereo two channel tracks. At the same time, it still allowed simple stereo receivers to use it as well.
At that time, 1995, the only places you'd have seen this system was on many laserdiscs and some VHS tapes, and labeled as "surround sound", aka dolby pro-logic. Just shortly after that certain laserdiscs would have either AC3 (now called Dolby Digital 5.1) or DTS surround sound (my personal favorite), but they often also had a pro-logic surround track available as well or at the least a stereo track.
Regardless, your receiver is a fine one and still good for modern formats, as you can direct the 5.1 audio on DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu Ray to output (via LPCM technology) as the matrixed 5.1 surround through their R+L RCA audio outputs, and this is also what happens with HDMI sound carried to your TV. If your TV has the two audio outputs that you can connect to your receiver, you're all set. |

I just added an SFT 100w to the classifieds...
http://www.epage.com/js/browse/c1064/b1064/r31118/?cat=1000&c=1064&b=1064&r=0
Due to the 10 item limit, I piggybacked it with the SGT 075, as they're the same price and similar in some ways. Both are shown in the photo, but notice the listing says 'your choice' not both together.
There's actually 3 good SFT 100w's I've located, all same basic good condition. I keep discovering new things in every closet and in the attic, etc. We've located about 300 or more really nice discs, some still sealed, many pristine or used little, some considered rare on the website title database.
Of the ones I don't want to keep, I'll probably put them in lots by genre, and let them go for sale that way, asking price will not be high. But I want to keep them in smaller lots of 12 or less so shipping damage is a reduced possibility.
However, if you have a specific title you're looking for, let me know and I'll see if it's here. Thanks! |
