CED VideoDisc and Player Discussion

Hey everyone - so thankful for CED Magic and all the work he's put into it.

I'm incredibly honored to have just inherited my grandfather's large collection of players and discs... I'd like to think I'm the youngest collector (in my early 20s) but who knows! I've been fascinated by these things ever since I was little.

This is what I received:
-850 discs - a few duplicates, but not many. Several still sealed.
-All three of the Star Wars
-18 players - Lots of RCAs, Sears, Zenith, Montgomery Ward, etc.
-an RCA SJT400 - the interactive one! it needs work, but I'm excited to get it working.
-a NEW IN BOX needle for the RCA units. It's got the foam, packaging, and everything. Beautiful.

Many of the units don't work, but most are simple problems. I've already got five more working and I'm going through unit by unit.

While I'll be hesitant to get rid of many of these, I really don't need 18 players, so if there's a specific unit you're looking for, I may be interested in selling a few. I can list all of the units I have if there's interest.

Hey, and congratulations on the movies and players! It's so nice to see a legacy carried on. I'm so thrilled that you are interested in your Grandads collection! I can only hope that, someday, many years from now, one of my grands will want to take my collection and be interested in it. That is how the format has survived! Many of the people who are into it today, were not even born back when I bought my first player in Sept, 1982! So, we are happy to have you aboard, and I think iti would be a great idea to list theh players you are intersted in selling, and if you have any duplicates you want to move, post them as well. We are always on the lookout for the right deal to come along!

Hey there Scott - thanks for the kind words!

My assistant spent the better amount of Friday going through half the discs... so we're going to database them all and all the players, and I'll be happy to list!

Hi there, welcome to the club!!!!! We love new members!

Nice to have an assistant to help move those discs around. There are a number of collectors here that have large collections and fortunately our wives double as our assistants.

Anyways, what a great collection you have. I currently own 12 players and about 550 discs. Good luck on getting all of them running. If you need to sell a few, you might find some eager collectors on this forum.

Welocme to the club. It sucked me right in hahaha. I absolutely love this format. Haha that's awesome an assistant helping you , wish I had one! Also I'd be interested in a few players from you like the Montgomery wards one or even the zenith! Any chance you can list the players you want to sell or email the list? Either way welcome to the club hope to see more join!
