OK, most everyone in here knows, the players I have, they are listed in my signature. I have always been partial to the SGT250, and I still believe it has a more clear picture than the SJT300 or SJT400. Deanjeep, my new best friend, has told me from the get go the 400 was better. I am now a believer.
When I plan to watch a movie, I play it once through my Sears player and sometimes I run it through my SGT250 before we sit down to watch it, (minimizes skips, some of them haven't been played in decades) So, this morning, I popped Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, into my Sears, and it started off skipping, it was a strange skip, just It was more than a jump, it was a constant skip. The skips didn't get worse as always. just a bopbopbopbopbop It does it for several minutes, on both sides. I took the disc out and popped it into my SGT250,, same skipping. OK, by this time, I am convinced it is a bad disc. Oh and by the way, i did take the disc out and check it, and it looks fine.
I decided to pop it in my SJT400 to see if maybe I could try and work some of the skips out, and, to my surprise, NO SKIPS! Not a single skip. I haven't tried it in my SJT300 yet, its downstairs, I will, but I was so surprised! What is the difference? The SGT250 has a nearly new stylus. I still say the picture quality is better on the SGT250, but I have been won over to the SJT400! Has anyone else noticed this??? _________________ 1000 titles

The SJT series players seem to handle skips better than the older ones. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

I agree, they do work on the skips better, but isn't the picture better in the SGT250s?
I have my SJT400 on one shelf, and the SGT250 on the shelf right under it. I try them with different family members, and the SGT250 wins EVERYTIME! With picture quality. _________________ 1000 titles
