Hey there...newbie to this site...not sure why I hadn't joined long ago. I even searched to see if my old scree name was in here...ha!
OK...long story short; I bought into RCA CED's when they were going strong....around '82 or so. There were so many rental places that carried them (even stand alone CED rental places!), that I only wound up with a few movies.
Then RCA dumps CED's and I'm stuck. Stubborn/angry, I hold onto to my machine;SGT-250. Then I have kids...they watch the few movies I had with much fascination. I had so much else going on at the time; especially the ten foot satellite dish with thousands of channels and the VHS+ in hyperdrive, that I never considered going further with CED's.
About five yrs ago I got out the old machine (kids are grown) and of course it wasn't working. Did some research (some here) and replaced three belts. Machine took off running. At that time there were many huge CED collection going for pennies on the dollar (or free).
Again...I drug my feet. So recently I started collecting movies. I only have 175 now...paltry by some of your standards, I know. But what is happening is that to get a great price on these movies, I have to buy whole lots. And then have them shipped media mail...if I have to. With gas @$4/gal, it seems a reasonable solution-if the price is right.
I'm winding up with a LOT of Star Wars/Star Trek stuff along with hordes of kid cartoons & kid movies. Possibly, some of you would be interested in those? Anyway, I've got 100 titles coming in media mail very soon and I expect more duplication. This seller was too busy to list the titles....I couldn't push the point because the price was right...even adding media mail. In some places they can't give this stuff away even with repeated listings on craigslist. I'm sure most of you are aware that kids who grew up watching CED's either have their father's collection and/or bought back into used CED's for sentimental reasons. However, CED's require more care and feeding than ipods & gaming systems, so the format was invariably dumped again...I figure about five yrs ago or so and a few younger stragglers still selling or dumping to this day.
So....my question is this; since I'm getting duplication when I buy lots... is anybody up for trading? I'm still looking for big lots too....

Yep, trade or sell whichever you prefer. I need to edit my list, since a few more sold at the church yard sale. _________________ Scott
