my player doesnt stop tryin to unload the disc, it goes up and i can pull it out but it wont stop trying to go up until i pull the disc out, when it shuts the player off, i have no problem taking something unfamiliar apart, but i dont have any literature to assist me, wut should i do? are parts hard to find, or should i get another player?

Hitachi style players do not have any oem or after market parts being made anymore. So almost all have to be "frankesteined" so to say and have parts stripped from other like-style hitachi model players. I feel only the rca ones are worth repairing and some parts are still findable and easily fixed vs hitachi, which haven't seemed easy so far.... other than belts Sad I do plan on learning more and trying to find replacement parts and fixing hitachi style players for others but I have to learn more and even worse, find even one service manual for them Mad Make your life easier and find a cheap rca, preferably a j/k model line!

thats what i was thinking, but i liked the gear vs. belt thing

yep thats the one i have, i just got a new stylus for it too Sad im going to try to fix it before i give up on it

I also have this Sears player and I must say it is my favorite player out of the 6 that I own. I am sorry to hear about issues with yours and was wondering if you were able to get it fixed. If so that is great but if not I would be interested in purchasing it as a backup/parts player to mine if your interested in selling it.

He actually bought an sjt-200 from me, but he might want it to tinker with, try and fix his old one. I can email him and ask him for you!
