I thought it would be fun to give a review of the last CED movie you watched. I'll start with the mine. The Longest Yard: One of my new CED buddies, recommended it, (thanks Dean) so My lady and I were looking for something to watch. I'm not a big fan of Burt Reynolds, but I decided to give it a shot. (after watching Best Whorehouse in Texas" I thought id never watch another Burt Reynolds movie again). Eddie Albert is the prison warden, and Ed Lauter, head of the prison guards. There are some great moments where the underdog gets a little victory. The game that finally gets played is really good to watch. I highly recommend it. This wasn't a great review, my first, I'm hoping they will get better. So, anybody else wanna take a shot at it? Very Happy

I (tried) to watch A Chorus Line The Movie. I watched enough of it to say I saw it. It wasn't anything that I thought it would be. I guess I was expecting "more Movie and less dancing and singing. It is a very good quality CED, just not my type of movie. My wilfe will love it though.

I watched Psycho II, one of my very favorite sequal!!! Norman Bates comes home from the nut house after 22 years, and some of the same old things begin to happen! I really enjoyed this sequal to the famous Hitchcock thriller. The main characters from the original are back and the plot is quite interested! I highly recommend this flick for those who enjoyed the original. Pshcho III and IV got kind of like a slasher flicks, but this one is more of a thriller.

BLUES BROTHERS:

This is a fun music movie. I hadn't watched it in awhile so was playing "spot the stars". If you love blues/rock music- awesome soundtrack is here. John Lee Hooker, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway.
My daughter watched this with me and she was singing along with some of the tracks and was loving the ridiculous car chase scenes. Each scene topped the last... start with 2 cops, add NeoNazis throw in some country singers.... then add a whole lotta cops, SWAT,mounted police, firetrucks, helicopters, Army, tanks.... a psychotic Carrie Fisher that keeps trying to kill Jake.
It's just one big fun ride.

I watched Psycho. It is a classic, black & white horror movie all the other horror movies gauge their movies on. The thing I love about this classic, is the fact that you can have a movie that entertains you, scares you to death, puts your mind to work, making your eyes see something that wasn't really there. a movie that has been around for a long time, and still I think about it almost everytime I step into the shower. Janet Leigh is a great screamer. Anthony Perkins is so creepy. The movie was remade, with Vince Vaughn & Ann Heche, and it was identical to the original! Why? because you cant do better than perfect!!!! I enjoy popping this movie in, just for fun on occasional thrill. I give it an A for a thriller, Hitchcock did a great job.

I finished watching the 4 CED set Holocaust last weekend, and it was amazing! But very tough to watch. It was about a German-Jewish family during the holocause. About the concentration camps. MIchael Moriotity plays a really bad dude who just gradually gets meaner and meaner towards the Jews. Like I said, hard one to watch, but we watched it. There is so much history of that time. The acting was good, the shooting, photography, and all was perfect. Inspiriational!!!!

I just watched King Kong...I'd give it a B-. Too much was made of the sexual innuendo between the dame and Kong. The last Kong with Jack Black is the best by far....other than the original.......which is just a B&W classic.

I'm getting ready to watch Tron for the first time. Somehow, I missed it originally....

I watched a movie today called The Dresser. It was better than I though. It is about a gentlemen who takes care of a once famous Broadway actor. It tells how he coaxes the old actor to prepare for his nex play, night after night. The old actor dreinks constantly, and it seems his memory is slipping. He keeps asking his "Dresser" to tell him what play is this? Whaat are my lines. The crux of the moive shows how Norman has his boss so spoiled, catereing to his every nee. While preparing what would end up being the last play he would ever do, he tells his dresser that he hasd started his AutoBiograph, and has the dedication already written. After his last preformance, as King Leer, he goes back to remove his make up, he is haveing a hard time, he wasts to rest. His "dresser" and friend for over 10 years, trying to cheer him up, says, lets read the beginning of your book. He starts reading the dedication, He is thanking everyone for his fame, for the big dedication, Noman gets ready to turn the page to reveal who he has picked as his big dedication...... Before he turns the page, he blushes, buecause he is certian He is the one, because ht hadn't been mentioned in the long list on page one,, even the electrictions, and sound men were listed. When he turns the page the name on the second page is............................................................................................................................................................SPOILERS>....///////////////////////////////////////////

William Shakesphere!!!! He looks over to his boss and he is DEAD!!!

This sounds like true life, naturally I can't recall the people. Young guy married a former star- huge age gap, but he waits on her hand and foot.... seems like that were interviews maybe 5-10 years ago....

Not sure about that, but The Betty Broderick Story is kind of like that. She said she put her man through law school, and all was hunky dory, until he started his practice, then the secretary started to look good, and .....

A Washington Affair Starring Tome Selleck & Caroly Lynnley. Pretty much Lifetime type movie here. Same old story, Honest guy, (selleck) in Washington. He is about to make a deal with a truckload of money. Meanwhile a crooked older man, sets up a video camera in his hotel room so he can try to catch him with "the other woman". So, while the old guy waits, sure enough, Tom Selleck comes to his room, prepares for a lady caller. Someone knocks on his door. The guy is hiding in the other room with the video camera running. The door opens, the bombshell blonde comes in, AND IT IS THE OLD CROOKS YOUNG WIFE! I won't give away what happens. This movie is going on my sale list. It playes well.

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN "THE SHINING", THERE ARE SPOILERS!!!

I just finished watching" The Shining" for the first time!!! Jack Nickolson is at his creepiest, and Shelly Duvall is , well she is still creepy. The kid in the movie playing dual roles, (the little boy who lives in his mouth who talks creepy) stole the show. It is amazing how well he did, seeing that he didn't pursue a career in acting. The ending didn't go along with the rest of the movie, I guess I was expecting it to end with more of a bang, instead of showing that Jack Nicholson had been, what? A ghost? From 30 years before?

I am a casual fan of Barbra Striseisand's music, and some of her movies, but in "A Star is Born" , she knocks it out of the park!!!! I haven't seen either of the versions, but I'm betting this one is tops. Kris Kristoferson is not bad either. I'm not into musicals, and that is what I thought this movie was. I really enjoyed this one, the ending was very good too. Babs hit the high notes, just like she did in Yentel

The Smurfs and The Magic Flute

(review done in Smurf blue, of course)

Well, what can I say about this one? Oh Yeah!!! You don't even see a Smurf until almost 30 minutes into the movie!!! Not that you would recognize them from the TV show anyway, none of the voices are the same.

That sounds like the Lost in Space movie, where the classic Robot is changed. The only thing that is even remotely similar is the Robot's "voice".
