Some of you guys who have been at this longer than me might be able to solve this mystery. My pal deanjeep was telling me that the CED Stereo Demo disc showed several discs that said "Stereo" on the package, and some of them were in the blue (stereo color) disc caddy. You can find it on this clip from youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2v6Wy59t68

Now I have definately not seen all the CED titles (yet) but if any one knows if Star Trek The Motion Picture exists in Stereo on CED??? Fiddler on the Roof was another one that it showed in Stereo! If you scan about half way through the demo, the place right after Grease and James Bond is advertised, you can see Star Trek The Montion Picture in a BLUE DISC CADDY!!!!!!!!!!!! Is there such a thing?

Interesting, Tom doesn't have it listed in the vaporware section..... so maybe is does exist in very small 'test batch' quantity's?

Funny, I just found that video by accident on YouTube not too long ago, and I was also surprised to see some of the titles that were supposedly produced in stereo. I could be wrong, but I would not be surprised if some of those titles were never actually released in stereo versions (unless CBS released their own stereo versions).

A LOT of titles shown on that were never released in stereo. RCA did reissue the Paul Simon concert and The Black Stallion in stereo later, and Paramount reissued Grease and Saturday Night Fever in stereo on their own label, also banded for random-access players. There were a handful of other discs not shown here that were also reissued in stereo. (BTW does anyone else have The Rolling Stones "Gimme Shelter" in stereo? That one hardly ever turns up, in hindsight I was pretty lucky getting ahold of it!)

Just remembered The Last Waltz was also reissued by RCA in stereo- and it was the very last consumer CED title I obtained to complete my collection, so I'd say it's pretty rare too!

Only took me about 13 years to find them all. There were just a few CEDs that I really wanted, but when I finally found a working player and realized how cool they were, plus in the pre-Ebay days discs were just plain hard to find at all, so I just grabbed any that I ran into and decided to try and get them all.

Now I'm working on HD-DVD- I have almost every title released in the US and paid an average of $5 for each, and I'm also collecting high-definition D-VHS movies now too since I got a machine for those a couple months ago!

Nice to know I am not the only crazy around here!

I not only collect CED discs and players. I collect gaming consoles, have most of them and backup ones for all that I have. Do I really need 6 Dreamcasts? I am all about backup. And I like to collect things in their original boxes...just ask Beetlescott...I am Mr. IntheBox...

I have Star Trek Seson 1 on HDDVD and I think I still have Pride & Prejudice on HD DVD.

Dean, I meant to ask you, do you have a PONG game, or is that not considered a console?

You our dating your self way back in time buy confessing that you got an Atari 2600 ! If memory serves, The Atari 2600 kind of made a brief resurgance back in the 80s. My young sons loved the game, that and the fact that the games were like 5 bucks back then.

Yes, many of them seem to think their things are worth so much more than others.

A caution about caddy colors: it has been said that towards the end of Selectavision's run they gave up on the white=mono, blue=stereo pattern and just used up whatever they had left - I think this is more likely if you have a "hidden label" caddy, but don't quote me on that.

A lot of the later stereo titles (fewer movies were being produced with mono soundtracks by 1986) used white caddies with an older title usually on the label underneath, I've never seen a mono title in a re-labeled blue caddy. The only mono disc I've seen in a blue caddy is the 2nd Aloha Conference disc, which was in mono but they used 2 different caddies to differentiate the discs since the printed labels were the same.
