What is your Christmas tradition? Do you travel? Do you stay home? Does everybody (and their dog) come to your house?
My wife, Carolyn have been married for 18 years, (as of yesterday) and we have 2 sons each. So since we don't have "steps" in our home, (no stepsons) we are all on the same level, There are 4 sons 3 daughter in laws 4 grand sons 4 grand daughters. We decided long ago not to compete with the boy's other parent, for our share of time at Christmas. We have Christmas with them the weekend BEFORE Christmas. (we have to celebrate our anniversary after Christmas) So they all converge on us, (they are here now, I'm hiding in my bedroom). After we clean up the mess, when they leave, we rest for a bit and Go to Carolyn's grand mother's house, she is 95 years old, and it truly over the river and through the woods for us!!!! My mother in law is 78 years old, and she has had every Christmas in that house! Then we go see My Mom in the nursing home now. and come back for a Christmas feast that would make all the WHOs in WHOVILLE envious. So, that's mine, what is yours??? Of course those who do celebrate Christmas. _________________ 1000 titles

We live in small town USA- her mom is 2 miles away and her brothers are 5 miles. Normally it's up to her mom's for xmas eve for the family get together.
Xmas day *apparently* I have started the tradition of 'treasure hunts'. I did this maybe 7 years ago and it's still going on... the kids request it.
So with 2,800 sq ft house and 5 acres, I make them solve a riddle, mystery, math whatever which then leads to several other clues and eventually a gift.
Doesn't seem to matter what's at the end either - it's the thrill of the hunt _________________ Scott

Our usual Christmas routine has been to have a Christmas Day feast at our home. My parents live in Lake Oswego and my sister and her 2 daughters live in Portland (although both girls go away to college now). My wife, Terri, her parents usually are with us through Christmas, however not this year. Terri's dad recently had a hip replacement so he can't travel right now.
This year will be different. My sister wants to create a brunch at our parents home in Lake Oswego on Christmas Day. This is good, since my folks don't like to drive all that much, they are both in their 80s. Also, my dad suffered a stroke in January and doesn't get around as well as he used to, so mom does all the driving now.
My daughter will want to take some of her new toys and games to grandma and grandpa's house. My stepson, from my previous marriage, lives in California. He is 21 and will stay in CA for Christmas with his girlfriend and her family. We hope to see him early next year.
Everyone have a wonderful Christmas and stay healthy!!!!!! |

I love reading these! Our kids left today. We had our Christmas with them this weekend, it is so much fun having all of them under one roof once a year!!! Then the next step for us, (afer we move) is, we get to go to Carolyn's Grandmas, where we get to be the children!!! _________________ 1000 titles
