As listed in another topic - I'd be very interested in picking up The Making of Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back disc if you had that.

I'm looking for a few others as well if you want to post a list.

Is the Holocaust still sealed in the box? This 4 disc set was a box set, with a discussion book for schools.

I have the Holocaust, the discs are still sealed and in the box, with the discussion book.

You don't see this one very often on ebay. I got mine outside of ebay from a collector liquidating his collection. I also got the Jesus of Nazareth 4 disc boxed set as well.

The box isn't sealed, but inside, 3 of the discs are still sealed, it has the boklet and another paper with it, it is very nice. I also found out that I almost threw 2 rarediscs, that I had in my dispose stack! One is Very Rare, the other Extrememly Rare. As follows:
1. RCA 1984 Products VR it's in great shape
2. RCA Ahloha Conference ER
These weren't with this stack, but the very first batch of movies I bought. WHO KNEW? I'll tell you CED enthusist, it pays to check what you have in you pile of CEDs you might purchase at a yard sale, estate sale, or whatever. I told my wife they were rare, she said I had to keep them!!!!

Scott,

You are going to make some collectors here very jealous. Those really rare discs are some of the most highly collectable discs ever produced. And to get them when purchasing a batch of movies, even sweeter. Almost like those urban myths, like a disgruntled wife selling her husbands prized Corvette for $100. Your wife is right, those discs are keepers, even if your best CED collecting friend tries to fool you into thinking they are really rather common, just so he can trick you into giving them up, ha ha!

Great find, keep collecting!

Jewel of the Nile was the last movie released on CED.

Which Aloha Conference disc did you get- was it in a white or blue caddy? I have the blue one, still trying to find the white one (the 'conference' was held for 2 different groups, so if you were a dealer who went you got one of the 2 discs depending on which one you went to.)

I still need to put my Aloha Conference disc online, but here's the "Catch the Wave" disc that was sent out a few months earlier to promote it:

So, thhe one I have isn't special? It looks just like the one you just showd us? Mine in blue, and it says:

RCA
VIDEO DISC
ALOHA CONFERENCE Then, at the bottom:

CATCH THE WAVE TO
THE DONA COAST '84

Is this the actual disc?

I also got a strange looking CED, it is just white with a sticker on it that says:
TECNNICAL LIAISON
EVALUTION DISC
Do not use for any purpose
before contacting either:
H.H. Crooks 3164 G. Boltz 3313

Then it looks like the previous owner put initials on it, and wrote:

The Pirate on it. Someone who knows about this let me know if what i have should be trashed or cherished.

Scott,

The Pirate is a movie with Gene Kelly, I think. So, what you have there is a test evaluation disc that was circulated internally. It is probably one sided, so just half of the movie, or maybe two sided with the full movie. It may just be a normal production run copy of The Pirate, used for evaluation.

Other such discs were given away to employees at random, maybe due to over-pressing.

This would be a collectable for the serious CED collectors or historians.

There were 2 different discs made of the actual Aloha Conference- mostly stuff like outdoor races, nothing about RCA products unfortunately. I have the one in a blue caddy which is the 2nd session, the first one was in a white caddy with the exact same label. More info here:

Thanks Dean, I finally popped the Pirate disc in, and it is indeed the Gene Kelly/Judy Garlans movie, It is both sides.

Jesse, thanks for the info. I have the one on the left. I keep finding all this informing nuggets! I managed to go through all the movies, and I do have 98 brand new, in the cello wrap movies! If you count the miniseries, Holocaust, It is 103. It has 4 discs but the first one has been opened. So, truthfully, I have 101, I listed the Beatles Let It Be, a "Making of" the acutal album. It is sooo nice. one tiny tear in the cellophane. Here are a few more Brand New CEDs I have.
1. Cujo
2. The Sting
3. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (remake frm the 70s
4. Catus Flower
5. The Caine Mutney
6. Kidnapped.
7. World Series 1980
8. Summer Rentals

That is a few I plan to put on Ebay. I have some treasures that no one can pry from my cold dead fingers:)

Halloween II
Dolly in London
Mary Tyler Moore best episodes
2001

I just wanted to share a few of these items with my new friends here at the magic!

Dolly in London is supposedly in SQ Quadraphonic sound if you have the appropriate decoder- I've found Dolby Pro-Logic II Music mode fakes it nicely.

Thanks for the heads up Jesse. My Onkyo receiver is pretty old. In fact, it is the first 5 channel receiver that came out. It has a double speaker Center channel. You can play it both ways, right now, i only have one, a Bose, and I use the 301s for my front channel, and the smaller 201s for the rear. It actually still sounds great! I just put Halloween II in, and the sound is fantastic. If you try to compare it with the cheap dvd and especially the VHS of the day, CED runs them OUT OF THE ROOM! Educate me on the Dolby Surround, or the Dolby II? Thanks in advance!!!
