As every here knows, I have a SGT250 that has been refurbished, and I love itl I also have a couple of SGT075s that I want to learn on. Does anyone know what the difference inside is? I mean besides the fact that one is mono and one stereo. Are the belts the same? Thanks _________________ 1000 titles

The 75's also have the load lever, instead of the motor the 250 has. I have an SGT-200, which was the only stereo player that also had that clunky-looking load/unload lever on it. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Would you happen to have a service manual for them? One that maybe I could get a copy of one? I'll be happy to pay for it. I'm wanting to learn how to change the belts and stylus's _________________ 1000 titles

I've got one service manual but I think it's for the SJT series. I can make a copy for you but I'll have to dig it out first, and confirm which model it's for.
Have you seen the DVD produced by CED Central on player repair? That shows mostly the SJT players; I don't know if they are still selling these since the guy behind it moved and sold the business (STILL don't know what happened to the inventory- he had a TON of discs!) but I helped edit and burn his first batch of DVDs. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Since I'm going to be getting into refurbing them, I'd be thrilled to get either one of them!!! _________________ 1000 titles

I'll have to dig it out and then get it photocopied- would you be willing to repay me for the postage and cost of copying? _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Of course! before you start all of the work, tell me how much it would be, if you mailed it to 40701, and whatever you charge. I can PayPal it to you before you send it. _________________ 1000 titles

| Hey, Beetlescott, I don't know if your original questions were ever completely answered or not, but I've worked on a lot of the early RCA models, and all of the SFT & SGT models use the same turntable belt. Actually, there's not a lot of difference between the SGT-200 and the SGT-250. As Jesse Skeen mentioned, the 250 has a motor drive in place of the lever, but the motor drive in the 250 is coupled to the same rod that the lever in the 200 is coupled to, and the remainder of the mechanism is identical in both players. Also, the 250 has an added circuit board (mounted to the computer board's metal frame); the added circuit board controls the motor drive and the remote control operation. And, of course, there's a remote control sensor installed in the 250 - beyond that, the 200 & 250 are identical. And the 200 only differs from the previous models in that it has an added stereo decoder board with AV jacks, and a stereo LED indicator - otherwise, no significant differences. The SJT & SKT models, however, are very different from the SFT & SGT models. |
