Hello, Welcome to the site! It would help if you were to tell us what the model number on the back is. Is it RCA? Here is a list of all the players, see which one you have. If it is a Capacitance Electronic Disc (CED) Player, then you have a player thay plays movies that look very much like an old vinyl record lp. Your machine uses a stylus, or needle, like an audio record player would. The movies are protected in a plastic "caddy" that you just power up the machine, the caddy slides into the front of the player, drops the disc and pull the caddy back out and it plays one side of the disc at a time. We love them here and we alos love it when new people become interested in this format that we all love:) I'm rather new here but I did have one of these players when they first came out in 1982. Here is the link so you can know what you have: http://www.cedmagic.com/museum/ced-player-guide/ced-player-guide.html
Good luck!!!! _________________ 1000 titles

The player that you have is a Hitachi type that came with a wired remote control. I use to own a Realistic CED1 that is the same player, it too came with a wired remote control (and that wire is really long...).
I take it that your player still has the stylus. A stylus for the Hitachi players are very hard to come by. Usually collectors buy complete players just to get the stylus. Some times you will see a player for sale on ebay but without the stylus.
Good luck! |
