|
|
Hello,
I have an RCA SJT 200 that has a bit of a problem that I'm wondering if anyone can help me with. I moved several months ago and in the process of the move, the front panel of the machine came loose. It's the panel with all the controls and the slot to load the movie. On the bottom edge of the control panel there are tabs that fit into slots on the other portion of the player. On the top portion of the control panel the section just fits under the lip of the main cover. My problem is, when I attempt to reinstall the panel I can only get either the top or the bottom in place properly. If is slip the top lip of the control panel under the edge of the plastic casing, then I am unable to get the tabs on the bottom to engage in the slots on the panel. If I start with the bottom edge of the control panel and slip the tabs in the slots, then I cant get the top portion to go into place.
I aligned the top edge of the panel with the lip of the casing and checked to see if I was able to load a movie even though the bottom portion of the control panel was not in place. I can power up the unit if I hold the power button on. When I hold the power button down the L appears in the led window. So, I attempted to load a movie. As long as I keep the power button depressed the movie plays fine. However, none of the other functions work such as pause, reject, etc. Obviously, because those controls are not locked into the proper position at the bottom of the panel.
Does anyone have any advice how I can properly reinstall the front panel. I'm sure there is a somewhat simple procedure for doing this, but it is escaping me. Also, anything in particular I must take care to be in the proper position so that when I reinstall the control panel it will work properly? I notice there is a clear piece of plastic with electric contacts on it that is attached to the control panel. I'm guessing those have to come into contact with something on the machine so that the button functions wil work.
Any advice anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You |
