What is this thing worth on the market, sadly Japanese listings don't tell me very much due to the heavy costs involved in importing, I found this in the US and bought it by accident. It has some warehouse scuffing, I hooked it up and the dummy video signal is clean via the Japanese NTSC RF connector (I used a computer TV tuner), mechanically disc mech seems to work fine but I don't have a disc, if anything it may need realignment. I can post photos if needed. The remote control is missing so take that into consideration too.
Edit: I will probably sell this so you can make a reasonable offer too. I only accept PayPal though.
Edit2: Now for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330425125352&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
Edit3: Sold, thanks for looking.

The grime on the front is old masking tape and should come off without to much trouble

I'm the one who bought it- can't wait to check it out! I have one disc I got from an Ebay seller in Canada a few years ago (it's Rambo, First Blood Part II). Need to see how to get ahold of some more discs now! I have every CED title but these will probably be harder to find and more expensive, plus most movies have Japanese subtitles on them so I'm probably not going to collect them as obsessively as I did with CED. I just got an LCD HDTV so the field-sequential 3D probably isn't going to work on it- I have a few field-sequential 3D DVDs that I tried on another LCD set and they didn't work, haven't had time to try them on mine yet- I also have a few VHS tapes from 3D TV Corporation bought in 1990-91. I kept my 40-inch Mitsubishi CRT set so at least I can watch them on that again once I have a place big enough to have it set up at the same time. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Just had it delivered and am checking out Rambo right now- player works great! Picture seems to be similar to CED- has that same jaggedness to it, and a few small 'dots' that travel slowly to the right like CED has. Sound seems pretty good- haven't heard any noise related to the format. Will have to order some more discs from that site!
3-D probably won't work on my LCD- when I move to a bigger place I'll set my 40-inch CRT up again just for field-sequential 3-D (I have a few DVDs of IMAX movies that were put out that way, as well as a few VHS tapes from 3-D TV Corporation and all the Sega Master System 3-D games) unless they end up working on the newer 3-D HDTVs. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |
