Does anyone have any idea if there were any CEDs produced that were not made available on laserdisc? I ask because I'm reducing my CED collection to certain ones, and that is one of the groups I'd keep, if any actually exist. With hundreds of CEDs and over a thousand LDs currently, I have to make some room now for my HD DVD collection. Betas and VHS are also on the reduction list, so it's not only a CED purge.

My suspicion is that all CEDs were also released on LD, but you can never tell. I'm referring to releases of actual films, documentaries, or even TV programs, and not specialy items like, for example, a disc promoting the use of CEDs.

I know that Julien at the LDDB.com has also listed CEDs in his database, but I can't see where there's a way to cross-reference such a group. So any help is appreciated.

There's this one: Great Figures in History: John F. Kennedy (1981)

Last American Virgin was available on CED but not on Laserdisc. However, it has since been issued on DVD.

There are a lot- too many to list off the top of my head.

I'm still wondering if there's a definitive list of material not available on ANY other home format besides CED. I think that 1950s animated Hansel and Gretel movie is one, though it might have shown up on DVD from one of those small companies. Another is "As We Grow" which is some Scholastic school filmstrips (where you'd show a still picture accompanied by a record or tape, which would signal someone or automatically trigger something to advance it to the next picture) sort of spruced up by zooming and panning across the pictures.

Thanks, JFK and Last American Virgin are good ones. Last American Virgin was only released on LD in Japan & PAL format. I'm not concerned with DVD releases.

Well, Jesse, could you list a few that you know of please? THX!

It's possible to cross reference titles in the LDDB, but that takes entering every CED title to see if LD pops up with it, so if you know a few, that's helpful.
