| I am completely new to this video format and am eager to get things going but I am having some difficulty. I just purchased my Wards GEN 10301 at a library sale and it came with a bunch of CEDs but none of them seem to work. Once I finally figured out how to get the disc in, everything seemed to be going fine. The light saying Side 1 lit up and once i pulled the caddy out the standby light came on. Then i pressed the play button and it made a noise like a motor came on but nothing happened. I pulled off the little cover over the stylus and it didnt seem to be advancing. I was wondering if someone on here knew if I was doing something wrong or if my player is broken. Please help |

Your player may have been stored in a back room at that library for a number of years, so the three rubber drive belts inside the machine are probably worn out. You can get all three of these for a few dollars on the product ordering page to test the functioning of the player:

The flat turntable drive belt is not an ideal replacement for the wider OEM flat belt that is no longer available, but it is good enough to test the player. Once you know the player is functional, a grooved pulley and round belt can be installed following the instructions on this page:

| Thank You I have ordered the belts and when they get in I will try them out. I pulled the player apart yesterday and noticed at least one of the belts was very loose so I would assume that new belts will do the trick. Thanks again I really appreciate it. |
