What was the original 1981 - 1985 retail price for a replacement stylus?
Was there a differnce in price for repacements for the SGT and SJT players?

| I remember paying $80.00 for a Sears replacement stylus at the Sears Service Center here in Indianapolis sometime in 1983. The player was made by Hitachi. |

When I started collecting in 1993, a "Mom & Pop" type RCA dealer still had a number of the 154100 styluses for 50 bucks each. I bought 2 of them, so far I still haven't needed to use them since I've been using spare styluses taken out of worthless players and would only use the new ones when all the others were gone. I've got a couple bad ones which I should have rebuilt- never thought that would've been possible (and when I started I thought for sure I was the only one who was going to preserve this technology for the future!) _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |
