|
|
I recently acquired an SGT250, which was dropped by the mail service on a below zero day. It did pretty well overall! However, I do need a new tonearm for the system. If anyone has a system for parts or would sell a tonearm, please let me know.
Thanks and God bless! |

I would check with CEDATUM <cedatum> first.
There is a remanufactured Pickup Arm less stylus cartridge RCA part #154036 on EBAY. Ebay item # 180007287072 Buy-It-Now $39.95 + $12.00 shipping ends Dec 29, 08 but I don't know anything about the seller. So...caveat emptor... |

I could ship you one as-is, but you'll need to do some minor part swapping (which only requires a phillips screwdriver). That's because the pickup arm is not actually from an SGT-250 (it's actually from a Sears player that was manufactured by RCA), and if you install it just as it is, it'll get hung up on the SGT-250's top cover. So basically what you would need to do is swap the stylus cover, which is easy to do (the cover has a difference in the latch - I guess RCA made the SGT-250 cover too low-profile and that was the cheapest way to fix the problem). I did that with my SGT-250 - I used a pickup arm from my old Zenith player, with the stylus cover from the old pickup arm - it works great.
But it's up to you. CEDatum is a very trustworthy source, but it would be a lot cheaper if you took my last spare pickup arm (and I'd love to get it out of my house, along with any of my other spare parts if anyone wants them). Keep in mind too that either way you go, you will probably have to recalibrate the servo adjustment, but that's not too difficult. |
