well i have 1 VR . 13 R . 23 UC and 23 commons according to you guys. i want to sell them but i want you guys to tell me whats fair Very Happy understand ? now let me tell you a story. i was at a local thrift shop with my mother we were shoping for some vinals when i noticed a box of what i thought was vinal sound tracts for movies in fancy boxes i refused to belive they were actually movies .there was no way in my mind that they were movies untill my mom said (stop being stupid) it says (Paramount!) and (video disk) and then i had to open one up to see for my self as soon as i opened it i knew that the technology that they used to make these disks was far more advanced than a vinal but yet the same thing i can see how much fun it must be to have a collection of these disks which is why i wish i had a video disk player so that i could watch these movies i know most of them are good. the guy who owned them must have passed away because my ced's are in really good shape i opend some of them up to see what shape the disks in side were in and to my surprise they were flawless . i cant beleve they gave up on their ced idea it would have become just as popular as vinals so i encurage the fact that you can still get these movies and movie players let alone get them fixed its awsome Surprised and maby ill join you maby i wont i want to keep them but lucky for you guys i dont have a player so im going to make a list of what i have and maby some of you can tell me whats what !....to be continued...

(copied and modified slightly from an older post I wrote on this forum)

I would start by going to CEDMagic and looking at the rarity ratings, which it looks like you have done. This is something to consider, but really only has a major impact when you get into the highly unusual titles. There were no bidding wars when I got my "Very Rare" discs off eBay, although this will probably happen for something odd like the Stereo Alignment disc, etc. (I only escaped with my alignment disc for about $8 because the seller listed it as a "video disck" with no mention of Selectavision or CED - always check alternate spellings, folks)

Keep in mind that these ratings were gathered some time ago by the owner/operator of CEDMagic and this forum, and may have shifted a bit over time.

Then factor in the condition - not just the caddy and artwork, but the actual disc itself. Scratched? Seemingly fine? Sealed?

In my travels, I have never paid more than $4 for a title from a shop that didn't really know what it was (Goodwill, etc.) I have also paid no more than $5 for titles from dealers who knew (or thought they knew) what it was. I will never go higher than $10 for a title on eBay, because there will be another copy right behind it, and there are collectors liquidating their collections all the time.

In my opinion, only the ones listed as "Extremely Rare" on CEDMagic have any truly noteworthy monetary value.

To get a decent idea of what people are willing to pay, select a disc that you want to sell from each rarity rating and see what they go for on eBay or other sites. That should sum it up nicely.

If you have the time and patience to sell them individually you will be better off. I tend to avoid lot sales as the shipping costs are too high, as is the risk of redundant titles.
