I recently bought my first CED player, an RCA SGT200. It works fine except the picture distorts at regular intervals. I thought perhaps this was due to a lack of lubrication, but after lubing the turntable shaft and the turntable motor, the distortion is still there. Then I noticed a strong vibration that seems to originate in the turntable motor assy and seems to correspond with the distortion. makes sense to me, anyway. anyone run into something similar? Where can I go from here.... Thanks for any help.

| Sounds kind of scary (the motor vibrations), but then again, I may have seen this problem in one of my old players. Actually there's a post where someone was discussing a similar problem, with a viewable video showing the picture distortion at regular intervals, but I think the video is no longer available. (I believe that post is called "CED color problem - disc or player?") |
