All of my discs on my SJT-400 will always start almost 30 seconds in. Is it a player or stylus problem?
Thanks,

One of my 400 series players has the same problem. Definitely not a stylus problem, as I have replaced it. My other 400 series player doesn't have this problem, and I can't see any difference in the two.
Strange too, because the player with the problem, if I tell it to search and go to 0:00, it will just fine.

| I have had this problem on other CED players. It could be out of adjustment or the unit was shipped with out the shipping screws or tabs and the tracking arm is slightly bent. On a few of my toshiba players I actually by hand bent the the tracking arm back so it was perpendicular with the guide rails so that when the stylus dropped down it would start at the beginning. Remove the top to see if the tracking arm and guide rails are at 90 degrees. |

I had a similar problem with my SKT-400 which affected most, but not all, discs. Check this thread and see if this sounds like your issue:
