I know the Digital Command Center will control the 400 series players, but I am curious to know what RCA televisions and VCR's it will control. If anyone has this information I would greatly appreciate learning it from you.

When I was young we had an RCA VLT-47x. My memory of the model number is based on starting at Replacement Remotes, finding the very-distinct remote that came with it, and working backwards. It is not a VLT-470, but either a 471, 472, or 473. (I suspect 472)

It was a large but very sleek machine. My father bought it because it was HiFi and had a flying erase head, but also because it was split in two: you could remove the transport half and pack it with a video camera for a heavy and cumbersome setup - though we used it a lot. I think it still had the Selectavison name on it, but can't find a picture online. Blank tapes from that period still used the Selectavision name. The VCR was all black, and had a step-up companion model that could also decode the then-new stereo tv broadcasts - the only way to distinguish the two was the stereo-tv model had a red pinstripe across the front panel.

As relates to your question, though, I remember looking through the manual and the Digital Command Center was a recommended optional accessory - so I suspect at the very least this one will work with it.

Though the machine is long gone I'm willing to bet my father still has the manual somewhere. I'll dig it out and scan it next time I visit.

Interesting- we had a Colortrak 2000 in 1985- don't remember the model number but it had a stereo broadcast decoder and it also had a red pinstripe, it was on top of a plexiglass panel that screwed onto the front over the screen. We got a JVC VHS Hi-Fi VCR to go with it because my dad thought it was a better brand, so we used the big remote just for the TV and ignored the other half of it. The TV only lasted about 13 years, in its last years its electronics started messing up badly, randomly changing channels, turning off and things like that. It was eventually thrown out but I kept the remote.

I would bet that it will control most RCA products after around 1983. I have found that my mid-1980s RCA VCR/TV remote controls every single RCA VCR and TV that I've come across, up to new models. I've taken it into the Dept store just to see if it will, and it does. It also controls certain RCA 'dupe' models like GE & Proscan. Guess that RCA found the remote code system that they liked and just kept it. Makes it great when finding RCA remotes in the yard sale/thrift store.
