Purchased off ebay as tested and working, in original box, came with manuals, extra loading motor belt - even had the shipping tabs still in place!
Hooked it up, popped in one of the CED's I've been collecting and it loaded properly.
All was going fine until the platter started to spin up. A lovely, loud thumping/grinding noise!! Instantly I hit reject to pop out the disc and it stopped and spit out the disc.
Upon taking off the cover I can find nothing out of place, however when slowly move the platter back and forth, it makes a terrible squeeling noise.
Is this something that I can easily fix or did I forget to do something else? |

| Upon closer inspection, it looks like the platter is sitting too low and rubbing against whatever is underneath it. If I lift the platter slightly (we're talking 1/4") it spins smoothly. |
