I really enjoyed reading Smoky Pond's detailed explanation of the projection system. If I had the space, I would love to do something like that .... However, I have gone to the other extreme for CED viewing.
I run my SGT200 through a Runco line doulber, with video noise reduction, into a high resolution monitor, The sound goes thru an equilizer (to tweak the highs up just a bit), then a Berwin audio noise reduction unit and into my SAE amp. The results, IMHO, are amazing, considering the fact that the newest link in the chain (except the monitor and speakers) is the SGT 200.
Anyone out there doing something like this ?

I still have yet to see what CED looks like on a high-definition screen, but I'm hoping to finally get one by the end of this year. It'll be weird watching those pan & scan transfers with black bars on the side! Right now I watch them on a 40-inch Mitsubishi picture tube TV, which I've had for about 12 years and still works well but is getting pretty long in the tooth. It was one of the best when I got it though. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |
