It was on Thanksgiving weekend in 1995 that the first page of the CED Magic website became live on the Internet. My university had recently purchased a new-fangled thing called a web server, and the IT folks were offered accounts on it to learn HTML. I devoted my account to CED, and when it became somewhat large after a few months, the account was moved to the local Teleport commercial web services.
The first graphic was the SelectaVision engineering logo, and you can still see that original MacDraw Pro rendering on the Facebook page:

Congrats Tom! I would have only been 11 years old when your site went live. Thank you for your time and devotion to the CED format. I have learned so much from you and your site. |

20 years ago I probably was just learning to talk. Funny how all of the technology I enjoy is older than I am |

Tom, without your incredible work and dedication, the CED scene
would be b/w and not full of vibrant colours.
Sadly the RCA CED System was never distributed in Germany,
they planned it, but they axed it, when Philips spended a fortune
on the release of the Laservision system. |

I'd been collecting for 2 years at that point, and until the internet came along I was sure that I was the only person on the planet who cared about CEDs. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Very cool. I remember when I first found this site and was amazed by all the CED stuff that I didn't know about. CED disappeared in my area fast, and I thought only RCA made the players, and that the F/G chassis was all that was ever used! |
