i've got about 100 discs now between almost 90 titles, and i wanted to start organizing them, but i wanted to know how do you organize/ categorize them? by stereo vs. mono, do you group like movies together ie: i have about 6 bond movies, do you go alphabetical? do you combine strategies like alphabetical mono and stereo?

Since I have about 100 CED's, I sort them alphabetically. Of course, I don't sort using "The" as the movie title. For example, "The Norseman" would be under the "N's" whereas "I ought to be in pictures" would go under the "I's". 2001 and 2011 are still a puzzle. Do I put them under the "T's" or do they go at the very beginning before the "A's"? I will have to ruminate on that one for a while. Right now, both are put under the "T's".

wait, 2010 came out on ced? i have 2001, but i want 2010 too, another on the want list!

2001 and 2010 would be first because it goes numeric then alphabetic. for now i just grouped mine stereo and mono, but i think i might actually group them by categories, comedy, action, horror etc...

Sorry about that. I meant 2010 instead of 2011. The old slip of the finger when typing. Yes 2010 did come out on CED. I got it when I was a member of the Columbia House CED of the month club.

I never knew they had a Columbia House club for CEDs!!! I have thought how cool it would be to have something like that!

Yes Beetlescott, there was a Santa Claus.(lol)

This is off topic, so please excuse me.
I joined the Columbia House CED club in 1984, I believe, and stayed with them until no more new CED pressings were made. The movies cost $19.95 or $29.95 with an occasional few being $39.95. I bought Raiders of the Lost Ark, Poltergeist, A Passage to India, 2001, 2010, The Empire Strikes Back, The Return of the Jedi, Outland, Man on the Moon, and Spacehunter from them to list a few. The CED's were wrapped in cellophane and were "hot off the press". See, I live in a rural area and the nearest city is an hour's drive away so mail order was the only way to get the latest movies on CED.

Also, Columibia House had the DVD and Laserdisc of the month clubs too. I was a member of both of them, The only thing is that both of them had their prices higher than normal and you had to pay shipping on top of their high price.

That is how I got my Star Trek series. I would join, get the freebie discs, and
buy a season of the Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, or Enterprise. One season would take care of my obligation.

But back to topic, I did have all my CEDs in alphabetical order, like CEDmagic. But it became more difficult to find or for that matter remember what you have. Now I have all my "Series" CEDs in the same place, like
The Omen & Damien in one place, All The Bond movies in one place under "Bond", First Blood ,Rambo Of course all the Star Treks were already in order, all 4 of the Star Wars discs, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Making of Star Wars & The Empire Strikes Back. in one order.
