|
|
| My RCA SFT100W has some kind of problem which needs to be repaired. Does any one know of a technician located in San Diego, California, or anywhere nearby, who repairs CED players? I have checked my Yellow Pages & can not find any one who works on them. I have never worked on a CED player myself, so I would not know what I am doing. If any one can help me out, it would be very helpful. |

There is a couple of people from these forums in cali, rix being one of them. He could very likely fix your player. Can you describe your problem? _________________ I dont own

The problem I am experiencing with my CED player is that it will not turn off when the front panel function lever is switched up to OFF. It also makes a constant "buzzing" or "whirring" noise when I flip the function lever to the PLAY or down to the LOAD | UNLOAD position. It is the same noise made when I begin playing a disc & use the rapid access buttons. I opened the top panel which covers the stylus cartridge, and the tone arm is over the middle of the platter. I have to unplug the CED player to turn it off, and when I plug it back in, with the function lever in any of the 3 positions, it still makes the same noise, and the tone arm still moves across the platter. The whole time, the red play time indicator on the front flashes "L". I have not attempted to load a disc because of this problem.
Not long before the player started doing this weird problem, it would only turn off sporadically with the function lever up in the off position, and my television would show a grey & white screen; I would still have to unplug the player to turn it off.
I had this player shipped to a technician in the South last year, and it worked fine until recently. I am not sure if any one has ever had this problem with the RCA SFT100W, and I can not find any reference to any similar issue online; it is not listed in the CED Player Repair Solutions page of the cedmagic.com web site.
I have no idea what is wrong with my RCA SFT100W; if any one has experienced this problem or can help me in any way, I would be very pleased. |

Wow! I have never heard of that problem. I will ask around see if I can find any clues to what it might be! Sounds like an advanced problem that will need a service manual or a cedatum visit! _________________ I dont own

I'm not far from you, in Lake Elsinore, about 70 miles noth of San Diego.
Right now I am running our income tax office, so no time. But I would be glad to check it out after April 16th (this year's tax deadline) |

I'm no expert on these players, but your trouble sounds very close to what trouble I was having. I discovered that my trouble was a small belt needing replaced on the function motor.
I don't know if this is the same problem you are having but thought I'd reply to this.
Good Luck with your player |
