New to the board and really enjoying it!
Just wanted to start a thread and hear some stories of your "most coveted" ced title and the most you've paid for a single title.....
I've been buying bulk lots but my most coveted titles have yet to be had........ |

Hi Rideauwrangler
Some of my best finds have been Zombie, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I Spit on Your Grave, Return of the Jedi, RCA Video Monitors, A Hard Day's Night, among others. I have been buying up collections as well, so I've been finding CED's for cheap.
What are some of the best finds that you have got?

Glad to see a handful of responces. I would covete TCM as well having been raised on the blood of horror movies lol. From what I've been reading it's going to cost me too lol.
I am just starting as a "collector" of ced's and haven't even had the time to properly inventory the few hundred discs I have accumulated so far. I have a massive film collection already in VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray formats that has got to be in the thousands by now.
What is really appealing to me; and I know a lot of other board members will relate to this; part of owning a film is owning the associated art work along with it. Cover art, poster art, liner notes est est; and in the case of francise films all the memorabilia too but that's another story.
Part of what I loved about Lp's is the large cover-art; and now I can get that same enjoyment from my film collecting through ced's! There are going to be many ced titles I know I'm going to chase down and I won't list them all out but I will give one example.
Revenge of the Ninja from 83; poorly written, horribly acted, badly produced, low-budget; but I love that film! It's all about nostalgia (guess I'm living in the past lol). I have this film on VHS (94 release) and DVD (03 release) but the cover art for these formats is not original and frankly sucks! The cover art for the CED is what this film is all about! The CED is of course the same as the original VHS release and the original movie poster. This is what I remember about one of many films that made such an impression on me as a kid! GOT TO HAVE IT!!!!! |

Dang Jesse! I didn't think anyone would come in here and actually admit what they paid! Some one from these forums bought the signature disc for $200 too.
I have paid $30 a couple times to get a VR title or to piss off someone like ace or twin pwer hahahahah. But the most I have paid was $125 for a sealed memories disc, btw it's still sealed haha _________________ I dont own

| I don't like the idea of having to pay $50 for a CED of Jedi or TCM but you know what.....those are titles I'm going to have to have as part of my collection so I'll probably end up paying it unless they turn up in local bulk-lots.............. |

Bulk lots are full of suprises! If you watch ebay carefully you can find a return of the jedi for under $20. Doesn't always happen, you just have to spot it faster than others some times. I have gotten a return of the jedi for $12 buy it now on ebay! TCM on the other hand is like zombie.... there is always gonna be at least 3 turds bidding on it hahah and not caring about price! _________________ I dont own

I bought a bulk lot of a hundred or so titles I already had JUST to get one I didn't- the super-rare A Walk Through The Universe. Seller didn't even list the titles, he had a few photos of all the discs on a shelf and I could read the spines. Best part was he would only do pick-up and I was within driving distance- bid started at 99 cents, some other guy bid about 20 bucks and he was out of the area anyways so I got the lot for $25. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

nice score.....I will probably be one of those pricks on ebay every now and then snipping something I really want from those other pricks boosting up the prices of popular titles lol.........but before I start that little war I need to save & spend on some working players lol
probably good for the ced-collector-community that i can't access ebay during the day lol...... |

I too got walk through in a bulk buy of about 600!
*shakes fist at rideau** hahah we all snipe don't let them tell you different!! that's no big deal. I'm just glad I have most titles now, especially the rarer ones so I don't have to fight the dastardly trio on ebay, I still bid them up when I can though hahahahah! _________________ I dont own

Welcome to CEDmagic, and our little but growing format! I have been involved in CEDs since 1982 The Wrath of Khan was my best find, but it isn't rare.
I have an exceptionally clean coy of the CED Return of the Jedi, and a fairly good copy of the making of Star Wars & Empire Strike Back. I was about to list them in here. if you are interested, shoot me an email, Beetlescott@msn.com. Make sure to put CED in the subject line. _________________ 1000 titles
