Some of you know (most don't) that I and my wife have an income tax office, which is up and running again for another season. I have a small waiting room that I set up with a nice 27" RCA CRT console from the late 90's. I got it for $20 at a thrift store, and it's the perfect size for the waiting room.

Usually, we have a news channel or classic TV show channel playing, but since it really looks like a more vintage set than it is, I decide a wood-grain CED player would look good on it. So I set up a classic RCA player today, and tested it out with the 1976 King Kong. Looks great! Nothing like a CRT for a CED.

Since our office is done up with all vintage stuff, it goes well, and I have CEDs and LDs displayed around which I always get questions about, now I can give a demonstration.

Now I just need to pull out a vintage LD player to set alongside it. Fortunately, the TV has both RF and A/V inputs.

Right, it does. There's something about a console TV with a wood-grain finish CED player on it that looks exactly right.

What you can see a little in the picture is two early 1960s end tables of 'Colonial' style with two matching vintage lamps. On the left table is a set of lat 50s Japanese figurine bookends and a Japanese figurine bedstand or desk lamp you can see only partly. On the right are are two vintage kerosene lamps, empty of course. On top the TV is a small vintage fan that I just repaired.

We also have a shelf unit that displays vintage appliances that are sometimes purchased, from Dad's closed shop and even some VCRs. And we have a stand that holds sealed VHS tapes and DVDs that we sell for $1 or $2 each. Just helps with the bills since we do not very charge much to do a tax return. I'll see if I can add photos of that later on.
