A buddy bid on a storage unit in a building over in LA, and got it, and turned out that there were over 1200 CEDs there and one player in the back of this big unit on metal shelves. He let me buy the CEDs and player since he had no idea what they were, but he kept the shelves.

So I have a whole bunch of discs in dozens boxes to catalog and go through, and see what I like to keep. However, there's no way I'm going to keep more than a fraction of them. I've already done about 300 titles, and 80% I already have.

So get your wish lists together and when I get a list made up, I'll post it, or rather make it available via email. I'll let them go pretty cheap. This is going to be some job, I can see. Already I've seen a couple of obscure titles I didn't even know existed.

By the way, they were kept in one of those several-story tall climate controlled storage buildings, and were kept all upright and not with anything on top of them.

Yeah...wasn't this confirmed to be the missing CED Central inventory just left behind?

I would like an e-mail list when you get ready.

Amazing find!
Definitely interested in any at least semi-obscure horror, sci-fi or other genre films if you're going to keep the prices low!

Not sure about that since there was only one player. But I think it's actually closer to 1400 or 1500 discs now that I recounted the crates. But considering parts 1 & 2 of many sets, that's less titles.

But it could be, maybe the other players were elsewhere. And I did notice already that some of the discs were repeated, or more than one copy of the same title.

I was lucky to get it, as the lot came up in a casual conversation. Otherwise it would have been sent off to a charity thrift shop, which isn't so bad anyway.

A lot of the discs from "CED Central" were bought from a shop in Canada, and many have yellow labels with computer-printed info on them. Check the discs to see if they have these- if they do, I have a good idea of what titles there are. I was lucky enough to see the inventory when it was in Sacramento, truly a sight to behold! There's a few discs in my collection in less-than-great condition that I'd still like to replace with better ones.

I'll check as I go through them. So far I have not seen that yellow label. However I did see several discs that came from a business in Red Bluff CA, which is north of Sacramento on the Sacramento River. So that might be an indication.

If these are from that lot, I would also suspect that there were other storage facility or facilities that had more discs and/or players. But someone else may have gotten them. My friend only got this one because it had other stuff in it he was interested in. The discs were hidden in back and not visible, and the storage place only lets you look in from outside, you can't go in or open boxes.

Sometimes they get a "pig in a poke", and sometimes not.

I got about another 100 disc titles catalogued.

This is a time-consuming job. Doing it alone, I did not realize how much effort it takes to do this since nothing is in alphabetica order. Whew, I hope I can get done before Christmas!

I finally got done with cataloguing all the CEDs I got in that big lot, and I am right now typing it up on Word to email to anyone interested. There's several hundred titles, so it will take me the better part of the day to finish. If you want the list, send me an email using the button below, or send it to rixrex @ netzero.net

Also, in that list I have around 50 titles that are still sealed discs. That will be a separate list from the main list of used discs for ease of viewing. I will also include pricing in the list.

Below, I have these discs for FREE, you just pay shipping:

The following two very good caddies with no disc:
1. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
2. Scrooge

These two good playing discs with real dingy caddies:
1. Hell in the Pacific

3. Close Encounters Special Edition
4. Coming Home

8. Gandhi
9. Officer And A Gentleman
10. Oklahoma

Well, I just counted individual CED titles and there's over 900 of them. There were some duplicates, but I expected that since this lot seems to be part of the CED Central inventory. I actually am keeping a couple hundred myself and I already traded about 50 for some rare LDs I wanted , so that meant there were well over a thousand individual titles.

Plus there's about 50 still sealed and a whole bunch of Part 1 only or Part 2 only as listed above.

If you want to see the list in Word format just email me. Or send me what you are looking for if it's just a few and I'll let you know if I have it.

Yes, the pricing is in the heading of the list. I could not price most individually, just too hard, so I priced at a flat rate according to rarity.

However, there are a few that I pulled out that I want to use in trade for a playable copy of Zombie, mainly the RCA demo discs and some other rare or very rare discs. Those are listed at the top of the document and the sealed ones are at he end.

Just sent an e-mail for a list!

You know you are killing me looking to sell this stuff right before Christmas when I'm already broke as is.

Yeah, sorry about that. But they'll be around a while I expect. It seemed to take ages to catalog them all and pick out what I wanted to keep.

Once everyone here gets their pick, then I'll have to figure out what to do with the remainder. Most here on the board seem to have a lot of them already.

What are you charging for shipping, or will you not know until you run to the post office and actually ship it?

Thanks!

It's media rate shipping from USPS, and I don't know for sure until I have location and they are packed, but, for example, I sent 12 discs to Illinois from CA for about $10 and sent 20 to Florida for less than $17.

Each disc weighs almost 1.5 lbs, and media rate is not expensive. 15 lbs across country is around $9 and 30 lbs is around $15. I don't think it's a good idea to send anything heavier than about 30 lbs.

Here's the post office wording about media rate mail from the USPS website:

Media Mail is not sealed against postal inspection. Regardless of physical closure, the mailing of articles at Media Mail prices constitutes consent by the mailer to postal inspection.

Media mail is used for certain types of books, films, manuscripts, printed music, printed test materials, sound recordings, play scripts, printed educational charts, loose-leaf pages and their binders consisting of medical information, video recordings, educational reference charts, and computer-readable media.
