Hello,
I’m new here, so I should shortly introduce myself. I’m rookie CEDs collector from Poland. Few weeks ago, I finally fulfilled one of my dreams. I bought my very own player – SFT100. Yep, my “NEW” toy made a long journey from US to the center of Europe. Fortunately in one piece Smile
So much for admission. Now the saddest part of the ‘cool story’. Player won’t work properly, actually it doesn’t work at all. I have the same problem that few members of this forum: example

Also after closer inspection, I noticed that when I put it into play mode the arm doesn't actually move but the gears move for a second as if to make the arm go backwards (I believe the stylus set down is what's keeping the arm from moving) When I manually moved the arm into the disc, everytime I started it up, the arm would move backwards for a second or two then stop (Still no video on screen and the counter only displays -- )

In addition to quote above, my player’s arm can move forward but only when I set it from the beginning position in 2/3 of the disc. Display still shows “- -“ and no output signal at all.
One more thing. How can I check stylus? How should it look like, when it’s ok or when it’s totally crap?
Thanks in advance,

It's pretty tough to check the stylus without knowledge and use of a magnifier of some sort. You have to instead check the player out with a known good stylus.

Best to either purchase another stylus that's new or known to work.

Or have your stylus rebuilt at CEDATUM.net

It's a good service and shipping will be a lot less since the stylus is so light.

They might even have an extra one to sell you.
