iI have an SJT300, SJT400, SGT250, and from a special friend, a Zentih player! Whan I first got back into CED last Fall, my first player was the Tank of all players, the SGT250, I wanted that one because that was the one I bought new back in 1982. I then bought, and sold 3 of the 250 and 2 of the 300 and a few of the older models, I bought my last SJT300, and put it in the living room, it is perfect there. I have my SJT400 & my SGT250, my manual Zenith in the study. OK, I first found a prolbem with my SJT400 when I first got it, and the guy I bought it from gladly repaired it for me, I am close enough so I could drive up and meet him. His name on here is duckie something. I took it to him and he fixed it by doing something to ta circuit board. It worked beautifully! I am tickled pink with it. Lately I have noticed the same looking "streaks" in the screen have come creeping back, I decided to try changing the stylus, I have been giving that player a pretty good workout. The stylus change did wonders to the player, it fixed me right up. Here is my question.... I have noticed some of the styli won't start the player at the exact beginning. The SGT250 has an adjustment screw that can be turned and set to "(0), that's great, but the SJTs don't have such a place. Is there no way to get the players adjusted so they start at 0? I would think there would be. While I'm on the subject of inconvience, why did they take the hatch away that lets you change the stylus without having to remove the cabinet top. Anyone have any ideas????? _________________ 1000 titles

Would love to hear an answer to this as well... I have an SJT101 that I can't get to start without fast-forwarding. It's a stylus set down issue, but the instructions on the site are for the other players, not this one.
Also - good question about the covers. That's bugging me, too. |

Hey wzartv, welcome to our club. We all love it when new people join up!!
The answer I got from the pros is, that it is all in the stylus. I was told that some styl won't start at 0, and, after 4 players, it is right. If you don't have one yet, locate yourself a spare one, and you will see the difference. As far as the omitting of the trap door, I have searched for the answer to that one _________________ 1000 titles

Now that I think of it, the way the skt's and sjt's are setup, the arm and stylus are just in an awkward ass spot. When you change stylus in sj/sk you have to move gear to bring in between bars so you can open and replace stylus. Chalk it up to poor design? _________________ I dont own

You might just be right, Ryan! The SGT250, made in 1982, was theh last (RCA) player made with the hatch. They made it look much better, you couldn't tell unless you were looking for it. _________________ 1000 titles
