Hi,

I happened across your reference to Howard Hill, the archer and actor in Errol Flynn's "Adventures of Robin Hood". Hill was the magnificent archer who did the bow ad arrow stunts on the film.

Your web page:

http://www.cedmagic.com/featured/robin-hood/11-howard-hill.html

...contains an error. The picture is NOT Howard Hill! That is an actor who reads the names of the archers at the tourney, Howard can be see in the scene where the archers walk ionto the field, he is in the lead. He wears a beige suit, and is taller and thinner than the actor depicted.

You seem to have a lot of detail on your site, so I just wanted to let you know of the error.

Cheers,

Michael Cawelti

Michael:

Thanks for the correction on that page. I went to the IMDb page for "The Adventures of Robin Hood," and it now lists a lot of uncredited people from the movie:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0029843/

Based on that addition, I believe the actor in the CED picture is Holmes Herbert, who is listed as "Referee" in the supplementary credits:

http://imdb.com/name/nm0378555/

Holmes Herbert did have some minor roles in other Errol Flynn CED titles from this time frame including Captain Blood, The Charge of the Light Brigade, and The Prince and the Pauper. If anyone would like to do a facial comparison to confirm I'm right, I'd appreciate it.
