Greetings Capacitance Electronic Disc enthusiasts! I am a new member here & I was hoping to get some tips for a problem I am having.

I have been collecting CEDs for about 1 year now. My CED player is a RCA model SKT-090, which was one of the lower end models of CED players. It was manufactured March 1984, which was only a few weeks before CED players were discontinued. I purchased it from an advertisement on Craigslist. After I bought it, I shipped it to a technician who specialises in the CED format for maintenance. It works very well now, but the problem it is having is at the end of a disc, or when I push the "REJECT" button to stop the disc playback, there is a high-pitched "scratching" or "grinding" sound for a few seconds before the player opens to eject the disc. This sound does not seem normal to me, so I am wondering why it would would be making this noise.

I would appreciate any suggestions & I will be sure to post more topics on the cedmagic forum.

Thank You,
Kyle

I'd say thats the brakes for the turn table to slow down and stop. I could be wrong.

I own a very eclectic collection of CEDs. I own all three Star Wars movies, some Disney movies, James Bond Movies, Pink Panther movies, Tom & Jerry cartoons, British films (NTSC, not PAL), and some old classics. Most of them I have never watched before. There are a few movies that I have more than one copy of, and some movies with only part 1 or 2. Most of them have come from online auctions that I have placed bids on & won. I just finished writing a complete list of all my CED titles on paper if any one is interested.
