If you look at the pic do you see how the stylus arm is under the 2 little metal tabs. Is that how they always are? Ive noticed when I take mine out the arm is not underneath those two tabs its just hangin out. Are you supposed to slip it out of those tabs before u install or are mine doing something wrong? They work but i dont want to chance it on other players. _________________ I dont own

The arm should be under the two tabs when you install it. When you swing the stylus cover back into place on the arm assembly there are two guides pointing down from the underside of the cover that poke through the top of the cartridge and push the tabs out of the way.
I don't think it will necessarily hurt anything to have the arm dangling free as long as you exercise extreme caution when handling - particularly if those guides are missing or damaged on your player (hence the stylus dangling when you removed a cartridge) and the stylus needs to be manually freed. That little copper strip is very delicate indeed, so by extreme caution I mean... well, you get the idea. |
