|

How many times have you seen a player up for sale and thought: Didn't the seller think about cleaning it up a wee bit before snaping those pictures and then listing it?
As a seller wouldn't you want to maximize the interest and bidding for your player?

It also amazes me that even some of the players that I have purchased, arrived in such garage filth. I would never sell something and send it to a buyer without giving it a thorough cleaning. Just doesn't seem to make good business sense.

| Still, wouldn't you at least wipe it down to make it look presentable, so it looks like something someone would want to buy? Or, maybe it is a ploy to lead prospective buyers into thinking that it might be a diamond in the rough! |

And why-o-why do people insist on paying for an ad/auction and then NOT include information?? What's the model, what are the movies- really is it that difficult? _________________ Scott

Haha, that thing looks like its full of maggots, and piss, and killer dust bunnies. One of my players I have literally had grape jelly caked on the rollers and on the arm that grabs the disc out of the caddy.
But seriously people, at least make it look nice when you try and sell it. _________________

I was curious so dropped him a note:
The model number is SJT 090 serial # 409236278 manuufactured feb 1984
The unit plays the movies but I had to remove the top cover and insert the disc manually the rubber belt that turns the gear to accept the disc is broken the unit does play a movie though the movies I show are included with this purchase. I have over 200 movies that I am selling at $ 3.99 each I will list these later.
Sooooo, why was this not in the listing???? _________________ Scott

The guy has a very low feedback count. Clearly he's new to this. Has anyone politely suggested that more information in the listing would be helpful in getting his item sold, and swiping a rag with some glass cleaner across the top and posting a new picture might seal the deal?
'Cuz I gotta tell you, I once wrote to a seller who was over-the-top apologetic in their listing that a CD they were selling was missing the booklet. I pointed out that there was never a booklet with the disc in question. They were devaluing their auction when there was really no need to.
They wrote back quite thankfully, modified their listing, and offered me a very considerable discount on anything they had listed.
Being a good neighbor pays off - sometimes. Just a thought. |

Wow! What stories! I've not been back into the format, but the second plaayer, an SGT200, was shamfully nasty. When I took the top off to work in it, 2 or 3 pictures were lying in it! family pics as good as I can tell. I don't even want to know how a person could family snapshots in a player!! Also, I received the first neutral feedback, not negative, thank God. I still have 100, but the guy gave me a nuteral because, THE MOVIE WOULDN'T WOULDN'T DOWNLOAD! I mean, give me a break I described it in detail. I'm still baffled as to why he didn;t just send me an email, I would of gladly of refunded the money. Peopl can be strange. _________________ 1000 titles
