Well, I have come to the sad realization that I have to get rid of my Toshiba CED player and its 25 movies. It is not working, and I know it needs a new stylus and the belts. Email me at bossman21383@yahoo.com if you are interested. No reasonable offer refused..

Bossman, why are you hanging it up? You can always pickup a working player for cheap. Maybe get rid of your Toshiba player to finance a working player. We hate to lose you... Sad

I just may do that. I would like a working one soon. But we were doing some pre-spring cleaning and my wife was like "either sell it or im throwing it in the trash! I know you love the thing but be real with yourself, you'll never get it fixed." So i guess I got real. I might keep a couple of the disc, probably Star Wars and Indiana Jones as keepsakes!

I agree!!! We are just getting this site up and running again, we have sme new people showing interest in this worderful format!!! We want to keep you too!!!! There are many sweet deals out there to keep the CED format going for another 2 generations!!!! You know, it is amazing how this "fragile" format has lasted all thse years! I remember when i first started buying these CEDs, back in 1982. People were worrying about how long the movies would last. Who would of ever thought you can still buy new movies almost 30 years later???

I have repaired more than 10 Toshiba players that only needed belts, it's not that hard to do once you get the hang of it. You can also have your stylus rebuilt by CEDATUM. I keep a box full of those belts for Toshiba and Hitachi players so I don't have to buy them when I need to repair one. The Toshiba players require a 1/8 round turntable belt because you can no longer get the proper cupped belt. Don't buy the flat belt because it will just fall off. You also have to buy a grooved pully to accept the new round belt. I got to the point where I made a 1/8 groove tool and just modified the existing pully on a lathe. The Toshiba players are a very robust and solid built players. Please don't throw away your player, we need to keep as many players as we can up and running to keep the format alive.
