Hi, I know its been a while since I have been on here but I just want to give you all an update. My wife and I had a discussion and she doesnt see the need of restoring this classic piece of equipment like I do for its retro appeal. So I was wondering how much would I be able to sell it for? It is not working, and I do not have the wired remote for it. It does come with 25 excellent movie. Check my other post for a complete list. Thank you all for your help and support. Maybe one day i can have a working piece of nostalgia

I hope you aren't getting completely out of CED world! It is infectious! You may be away from it for a while, but once it is in your blood, it never goes away! There is something special about holding one of those CEDs in your hand, smoothh lines, Especially the new ones!!! OK, i'm crazy, but if you are a fan, you are ALWAYS a fan:)

No not completly!! I do want one of these machines that works. i think all mine needs are the belts replaced and the stylus either cleaned or replaced. Even though we only payed $10 for the lot, she doesnt want to spend the $50 to get it working Sad So hopefully one day I can convince her to let me buy a working one

I do agree with Beetlescott --> he is nuts Smile Ok, I have a large percentage of them in the stereo cabinet and it just looks cool. Of course I need to build another cabinet to hold the rest.
Get rid of them? No way- I have $300 invested, can't turn back now Smile

Well, the belts are very inexpensive, to have the stylus cleaned, it's 8.00 to cleaned, I hope you do decide to keep it/get another one. I hate to lose the people in here who are active:(.

Oh you are smitten with the CED bug! There is not turning back!!! Yes, I have been told that i'd have to be "nuts" to get back into this format, so nuts I am, and I am in GREAT company Wink There is just something about having these movies, checking out the caddies, even the occaionasional skip or jump, it's all part of it:) I have such pleasant memories of bringing home moives that had been on at the theater just a few months before. Back then you would have to be rich to buy a Video Cassette of a movie, they ran 80=100 bucks each!!! Plus the picture quality wasn't as good on a tape, nor was the sound. Plus, you could buy movies as cheap as 14.95, to -39.95. I was the one who had movies to watch at my house!!! I'll never forget bringing home Star Trek, The Wrath of Khan, my whole family watched it......TWICE in one sitting. What fun!

CEDatum will check it out for you. If it needs to be cleaned, he charges 8 lollars to clean them. He is very honest and doew great work. I sent 2 of them to him, and told him to do whatever they need. He could of charged me the full price of a rebuild, I would of been none the wiser. check out his website http://cedatum.net/default.aspx
