OH Man! I have been looking for Halloween II! Good for you! You got it at the right time too. I had Halloween II on CED years ago, I remember when it came out, it was one of many "blue" discs I would get. You can read some of the od posts on here if you have any problems. I have about 60 movies and I'm going to be selling about 40 of them on Ebay, iin just a few days. If you want a list of what I have, shoot me an email to, Beetlescott@msn.com. Be sure and put CED in the subject line so it doesn't get lost in the junk!!! _________________ 1000 titles

| yea I will email you for the list of Friday the 13th's you have and your other listed stuff, I haven't received my player yet I'm waiting for it to arrive, I found a guy on Ebay he's gonna send me a Sanyo VDR3000 28 page Trouble shooting book for that CED player for $6.00 so Im happy with that he said the player was very rare and even more rare to find replacement parts so hopefully its a great working system, all I need now is Betamax and I will own every single video movie format, got HD-DVD (285, 2 Players), Blu-ray (93, 2 Players), 6 Head VCR (48 Movies & all Friday 13ths n Halloweens) DVD (320), Laserdisc player, (38 movies) and Sanyo VDR3000 (7 CED) lol there's all my formats, and its only a mono player but thats ok i'll splice it threw my 7 speaker surround system so I will get 3.5 speakers instead of one lol. |

Sounds like you have a start to an awesome collection of formats! I have VCR, DVD, BluRay, CED. I went to a Vendors Mall and found a magazine rack that will be perfect for CEDs! it's one of those that is tapered down, and has small slots for DVDs/Mags/ whatever. I will take a pic of it and show it off when I get it painted and fixed up. You might be able to get parts for your player from CEDpro, or CEDatum. The latter even cleans and rebuilds your stylus, so im pretty sure you can find what you might need from there. I bought my first CED player from a guy who adverdisted his player as "plays movies" only to find that it really didn't. I mean, it was so snowy you could n't see! I am getting ready to send the stylus to CEDatum to see if it can be cleaned or rebuilt. Good luck to you with yours! These things are so much fun!!! By the way, what is VHD? _________________ 1000 titles

I have a VHD player, but its loading mechanism broke after I watched side 1 of the one disc I have (Rambo), and now I can't get it working again. The disc is now scratched up.
I also have 4 Cartrivision machines, which were the very first home videotape format to have pre-recorded movies- it came out in 1972, a good 3 years before the first Betamax! I can't get any of them to work though- if anyone in the Sacramento area knows how to fix these, let me know and if you can get 2 or more of them working I'll let you have one! This was only on the market for about a year. In the 60s there were a few reel-to-reel video recorders for home use, but they were expensive and most only were in black and white- I heard Elvis Presley had one. _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Thats awesome! I had no idea there was anything before Betamax/VHS. Now, you talk like Betamax was BEFORE vhs. Is that true? If so, I wonder why it wasn't the victor over the battle? _________________ 1000 titles

The first Beta VCR in the US came out in late 1975 as a console with the VCR and a TV together- the first stand-alone Betamaxes came out in early 1976 with only one recording speed that got you one hour per tape. The first VHS machines weren't out until 1977, but their tapes were always longer than Beta and when video rentals took off there were tons more titles available on VHS than Beta (rentals on CED and laserdisc were too few to count!) _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

Yeah, the CED player just didn't make it in it's own time. I have said before, that if RCA had of gotten these wonderful players out in the 60s, before tapes were around, when it was just LP records and 45s, CED would of been the next step! Yes, the VHS market would of phased out our beloved format. But NOT before there it ran it's time. Just think of the possibilities there would of been if we had of had them all those years it sat on the drawing board. Everyone would of known what a CED player was and how many more titles could we of had? Oh man! _________________ 1000 titles

I think what makes this a fun hobby is that it is an obscure video format and not a lot of people out there know little if nothing about it. It's kinda like our own little secret.
I just wished that people took better care of the discs and sleeves. Some of those sleeves are pretty bad and the discs could make you cry if it fouled up your player. |

I'm glad you got it going. I wouldn't buy any more copies until you have the stylus checked out. The one I have on Ebay now didi exactly the same thing, The movies were staticy and jumpy, I put it in my refurbished one and the very same disc played perfectly. I think if may be worth it to let CEDatum check it out for you. He only charges like 8 bucks if it just needs to be cleaned. Good luck!!! _________________ 1000 titles

| well the halloween 2, & 3 disc are very scratched bro, I opened up caddy n looked at disc safely and they both are scratched, and I played From Russia With Love and its got no scratches at all and the disc played perfectly no jumping or speckles, plus the player was brand new so the stylus wasnt even used, I talked to a buddy of the guy who does repairs on CED Stylus's and he said thats coming from bad discs and all disc would play jumpy n speckled if the stylus is bad, but I will still have to buy another stylus just for backup, thanks for your help beetlescott, have a good one take care. |

Well, if that's the case, you are in business!!! Sorry about the bad discs! You never know what your going to get when you buy discs from people. I have had the best luck with Jays Recyling on Ebay than anywhere else. I bought 5 brand new, still in the cello wrap from him last week, and the movies, so far are nearly skip free!!!! So good luck!!!! Keep us posted on how it goes!! I just bought my third SGT250 today, I'm going to fix it up and sell it pretty soon. The great think about these players is they are stereo with rca out plugs, and they have a remote!!! If you do decide you want another one, the one I have for sale, is on EBay for a low bbid of 49. bucks complete with 4 free movies!!!!!! _________________ 1000 titles
