Well, as you saw in the other thread I just got a VHD player, and all was fine with it until I watched side 1 of the one disc I have to the end. When I tried inserting the caddy to remove the disc and turn it over, it seems something has gone wrong with the loading mechanism. I opened the player up but can't figure out how to fix it. There is a bar that moves along a track via a motor which guides the caddy in and out, that doesn't seem to be working anymore. It's most likely a simple fix, but since these were never sold in the US it's going to be very hard getting it fixed. (My first CED player, an SJT-300 had a problem with the loading mechanism the first day- it too played fine at first but trouble started after unloading the disc.)
Any help would be appreciated- I will even ship it to Japan if that's the only way I can have this machine fixed. (I would like to bring it over myself but not sure when I'll be able to do that.) Thanks in advance for any help! _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |

| Post photos I may be able to help. Also are there any snapped plastic parts or other signs of catastrophic failure. |

Thanks- I'll try to get some pictures ASAP. Nothing seems snapped, though one small part did come loose (though it seems rather minor- all the mechanical parts seem OK). _________________ Videodisc and stereo sound- there's no better value around! |
