I am looking for a OWNER's manual for a SGT250 discplayer.
I have exrta Owner's manuals for SGT100, SJT100 and SJT200 to swap or sell. These are originals not photo copies.

As it happens, I do have my manual for my Hitachi VIP-201P somewhere - I presume that's the one you have. However, I don't want to part with it. I can scan it for you though if you like?
For that matter would it be a good idea for the site to archive as many manual scans as possible? If Tom's willing of course.. but this is such a useful site already it would be a handy addition. That's of course if he hasn't already done that and I've not noticed. _________________ Ian Gledhill

Thanks for replying
I would greatly appreciate a scanned copy of the Hitachi manual if you can put your hands on it - I have both the VIP201P and VIP202P which I think the difference is only one is a wired remote - the other is the wireless remote.
I have the blue operating guide leaflet (Im after the Manual which i assume goes into greater depth about the assembley) which as you say if Tom wants to do it we can upload them

The operating guide is all I have.... are you sure there is another manual? It seems to have everything in it that I'd expect from a manual....
We're talking about the same 8-page fold-out thing yes? _________________ Ian Gledhill

Hi
Yep the 8 page operators manual is what I have - but I do appreciate you taking the time to respond.
There is a service manual which has circuit drawings and procedures for making adjustments - being an engineers myself - Im looking to have a play around with CED Players.
Thanks again - if i come across one -Ill let you know - the manual will always be useful if you want to repair or take to someone to repair for you

Service manuals are very different beasts to owner's manual.. and very much harder to find!
I think we should archive all manuals on this site, to be honest; as the machines get older they'll need more seeing to, and it's a very good idea to keep the service manuals handy for people like us to read when our machines go kaput (I'm the sort of person who never throws anything out, and if something goes "bang" I almost relish the challenge of fixing it back up again!).
Have you taken apart your VIP-201P yet? There's loads of presets to twiddle! I've not touched them myself but I'll bet you could really change things with them... and probably knacker the picture up, which is why I've not done so.
Also keep a tab on the stylus height - that's the screw at the bottom of the stylus carrier, which runs along the rail. Worth checking that if things aren't quite right. _________________ Ian Gledhill
