I have 3 CED Players, I have 115 movies! I wanted to copy the movies to
DVD thus protecting my investment! The path to success is a long and some
what complex one. My last working CED Player has quit working.
I have been told countless times by many learned Techies that it is not worth
the effort!!!! If this is true, is there anyone out there that wants 3 CED Players and 115 movies? Ralph Ridley (Boise Idaho) _________________ RAridley

So actually you have 115 movies...perhaps you might just be able to edit this part of your original post here.
Suggest you put in your general location, like city and state, or at least the state and approx area of the state. This will help to see if somebody is interested in picking them up rather than paying a lot for shipping.
Personally, I wouldn't bother to copy any CEDs to DVD nowadays if the DVD was readily available, as most DVDs have gotten so cheap now. Too much effort and time to copy so many. Instead I'd just get the DVD or an LD version of ones I want to watch often, and that's not too many actually. I might copy any rare ones, but offhand I can't think of many rare CEDs that cannot be found on DVD or Laserdisc. I suppose there some that are CED specific however.
I'm sure you can find somebody here interested in your lot if you let us know where you are and perhaps a direct contact method too. |

At the suggestion of a replier to my original post I live in Boise Idaho!
In response to the suggestion that perhaps simply buying DVD's for
the CED movies I wish to continue watching would be an easier way to go,
I respond, I've located some for sale on the WEB but for the older "CLASSICS" they usually have price tags from 25 to 50 dollars!!! The answer
to the question "would I watch them frequently"? Probably not! _________________ RAridley |

That's true that certain older classics have that stiff price. And that is one big reason why I keep the LDs I've collected rather than trade in for DVD. In classic film situations where DVD is too much, I get a laserdisc, even if I still have the CED. Often the LDs are pretty inexpensive. Whenever I previously considered transferring a CED to a tape (no DVD at that time) it always seemed to act up somehow to make the transfer faulty.
But it's fine to transfer CEDs to DVD if you wish, personal preference is always an important factor. |

| i would say just its not worth it to copy them to dvd. if your last CED player stops working then just fix it or buy a new one off ebay. |
