Model # 193.54811350

I picked one up at an auction it has a disk stuck in it, the case and all is stuck. Any suggestions?? Thought I'd look for info online and came across this forum, so I might as well ask before I get too rough with it and break it.

Thanks
Brent

Hello, I might be able to help you get the disc un-stuck. Is the whole caddy stuck in the player, or will the caddy not retract the disc (and caddy insert) and pull it out? Inside the Sears players, there is the most annoying and tedious mechanism which I have had problems with also. It is rather simple in design, there are two black plastic triangle points that insert into the disc caddy on each side to push in the disc caddy locks, while on the underside of the disc caddy, there are metal tabs that lock in to the top of the disc insert, allowing you to pull the empty caddy out for playback. After doing so, the triangle points are supposed to drop down below the bottom of the caddy, along with the metal tabs dropping down, when you reinsert the empty caddy to pull the disc out. This allows the caddy locks on the disc insert to lock back into the caddy itself, removing the disc from the player. Sometimes the black plastic triangles do not drop down, and when you insert the disc caddy back into the player for removal, they go back into the caddy (as in the loading sequence) and do not allow the caddy locks on the disc insert to lock back into place for the removal of the disc, resulting in a jam. You will have to remove the top of the player (4 screws, two on the side at the front, and two on the very back). Remove the two screws that hold the circuit board down (one is by the digital display, the other is on the opposite side at the corner of the circuit board). This will allow you to flip up the board (it swivels up, make sure to slide the 'remote' plug out of it's place at the bottom front). You can then poke a small screwdriver down underneath one of the black triangles to disengage the disc. I know this sounds confusing, but hope it helps.
