After I log in and post a message, why am I shown as a guest.

This appears to be a "feature" of phpbb where you login when first visiting the forum, then need to login again to post a message. The easy fix is to check the box "Log me on automatically each visit" at the initial screen, and if necessary, check it again on posting your next message.

As long as you're posting from the same computer, this setting should stick. If not, make sure your web browser is set to accept cookies, a setting that usually is located within the preferences menu selection.
