Looking for help. My SJT100 makes a bumping noise as it plays. I took the cover off and watched. The noise happens as the reduction gears turn about every 3 seconds. I looked at another player and the reduction gear movement is same but much quieter. Does this mean the gears need grease? If so, what kind? I don't think petroleum-based grease is good for plastic but I'm not certain. Thanks for your advice ! |

I have an SKT400 that makes the same noise. It could be that guide rods on the pick up need to be lubed. Avoid using thick grease, it could make it worse. |
